Recently, after a visit to the dental clinic I was left completely wisdom less and more importantly moneyless. The amount charged to put four elephant sized injections in my gum and using pliers to leaving a gaping hole in my mouth was atrocious. In hindsight it would have better to pay for some weight loss rather than losing this useless piece of bone and enamel.
Amongst the many post-op instructions I was advised to drink milkshakes, cold coffee, ice cream, smoothies and the likes. Atrocious again! I tried to do a mental calculation of the amount of dairy I would have to ingest to stay alive for the next 24 hours. I failed. Tried to think of all the nutritious and soft food items to eat, but lacked the wisdom to think healthy. In the first few hours I had a berry smoothie and a chocolate ice cream bar. And with that only, I finished my daily and dairy calorie limits.
Next morning, which came about rather reluctantly, I thought of a cold, delicious non-dairy alternative to console my lost intelligence. In the form of fresh fruit topped with whipped non-dairy cream! Kaisaaa phir? Zaheen hoon na!
The result was bite sized sunshined mangoes dolloped with whipped coconut cream (yes coconut cream) sublimely laced with golden honey, finally specked with aromatic cinnamon spice. Result was guiltless and toothless merriment.
