Soully yours and Clean Meals Part III
September 13, 2015
How many times have you spoken to yourself in the silence of the eerie night? And the voice that answers back – Is that your soul?
Sometimes you feel a pain so intense yet it shows no physical or emotional damage – is that the soul crying out for mercy?
Overwhelmed by a certain incidence, minute volcanic eruptions spread over all over your skin – is the soul shedding tears in the form of goose bumps?
That façade that you put up trying to convince the world of calmness yet the rage inside is killing you softly – is this the soul suffering from a tsunami?
Those desperate moments when you so want to establish contact with the Almighty and just can’t – is that the soul undergoing fury?
When you look up at the full moon and you can feel those tiny hairs rising on your ears – is that the soul basking in the beauty of moonlight?
And when you look up and the sun is glaring back at you – is that the soul cooking over fire?
When you listen to an old song and feel a slit in your heart – is that the soul taking out a thorn?
Those times when you are furious at the turn of the events – is that the soul smoking away in pleasure?
The very moment you feel maddening love for someone – is that the soul throwing off pearl dust?
Work, family and social commitments leave little time for us to take a back seat and ponder over the most fascinating and absorbing element of life – the soul! An enthralling creation, which lives, breathes, cries and laughs in its own realm of infiniteness, just temporarily breathed into a physical form. I feel this incomprehensible creature, feeds on love - pure, clean and unadulterated love rather than on culture, creed and religion. It thrives on passion and energy and gets badly bruised by dishonesty and jealousy.
Work, family and social commitments also leave little time for us to prepare and eat a decent breakfast – hence enter Bircher Muesli – oats that are soaked in milk, juice or water overnight – the next morning you have the soft clumps of oatmeal waiting to be plumped up with nuts, dried and fresh fruit, yogurt and cream or whatever you fancy really. Bircher Muesli is as easy to prepare, as it is difficult to figure out the soul – however it can certainly serve as soul food.

Actually Bircher Muesli is a calorific bomb but I have toned it down with delicious substitutes so that it remains kind on your waist and you enjoy a decent breakfast guilt-free. Further endorsed by my friend Bilal, who eats and trains ruthlessly and strongly believes in clean food energizing the physical and spiritual form
